Emergency Dentistry in Flagler Beach

A toothache that wakes you at night, a molar that cracks on a piece of hard candy, or a crown that comes loose before a weekend trip all need prompt attention. At Boulder Rock Dental, we set aside time for same-day emergency appointments so that patients from Flagler Beach and the surrounding coastal communities can be seen quickly and get relief.
Emergency dentistry is care for dental problems that cannot wait for a routine visit. These include problems that cause significant pain, damage a tooth or restoration, or leave you unable to eat and speak comfortably. Our office is in Palm Coast, and Flagler Beach is one of the communities we serve. That gives patients there a practice they can call when something goes wrong.
We see patients of all ages, from children to seniors. A family can bring a child with a chipped front tooth and a grandparent with a broken denture to the same team. Parents are welcome in the treatment room with their children, which helps keep a stressful moment calmer for everyone. No referral is needed for emergency care. You can call us directly and we will work to fit you in.
Dental emergencies come in many forms, and our team handles a wide range of them in-house. Common situations we treat include:
- Severe or throbbing toothaches that may point to infection inside the tooth
- Cracked teeth, from small fractures to breaks that expose sensitive layers
- Lost or broken fillings and crowns
- Chipped teeth that can be repaired with composite bonding
- Teeth that need to be removed, handled with simple extractions when appropriate
- Problems with previous root canals, including root canal retreatment
- Broken or ill-fitting dentures that need repair or replacement
Because our services also include crowns, bridges, dental implants, and complete and partial dentures, the emergency visit is often just the first step. If a tooth cannot be saved, we can talk through replacement options. Those options include implants and implant-supported dentures, so you do not have to start over with a new office.
What Happens During Your Emergency Visit
When you call, we will ask what happened, where it hurts, and how long it has been going on. That helps us plan your appointment before you arrive. Once you are here, one of our dentists, Dr. Thinh Tran or Dr. Jake Ryan, will examine the area. We will explain what we find in plain language.
Our first priority is getting you comfortable and addressing the immediate problem. Depending on the cause, that might mean placing a filling, starting root canal therapy on a front tooth, smoothing and bonding a chipped edge, or removing a tooth that cannot be restored. When a complete fix takes more than one visit, we stabilize the tooth first. Then we schedule your follow-up and explain exactly what comes next and why.
Caring for Your Mouth Afterward
Aftercare depends on the treatment you received, so we give each patient specific instructions before they leave. After an extraction, for example, we will explain how to protect the area as it heals and what to eat in the first few days. After a filling or bonding, we will let you know when it is fine to chew normally.
Follow-up matters. A tooth that needed emergency care may also need a crown, periodontal treatment, or simply closer monitoring at your regular cleanings and exams. Routine preventive care with our dental hygienist helps us catch issues such as cavities and gum disease earlier, which can lower the chance of a future emergency. If anything feels wrong after your visit, please call us so we can take a look.
Paying for Emergency Dental Care
An unexpected dental problem should not come with confusion about cost. We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims for you. We also welcome self-pay patients, so you can still be seen if you do not have insurance.
For larger treatment needs, we offer financing through CareCredit, iCreditWorks, and Sunbit, which lets you spread costs over time. We also offer in-house dental membership plans at $189 or $240 per year, plus a $109 per year plan for veterans. Before treatment begins, we will go over your options with you so you can make a decision that fits your situation.
If you are in Flagler Beach and dealing with tooth pain, a broken tooth, or a damaged restoration, call Boulder Rock Dental and let us know what is happening. We will do our best to see you the same day and help you feel better.
