Why choose us
Benefits of Teeth Whitening
Two Ways to Whiten
We offer both in-office whitening and take-home whitening, so you can choose the approach that fits your schedule.
Faster In-Office Results
In-office whitening suits patients who want a brighter smile in a single visit with our team.
Whiten on Your Time
Take-home whitening lets you brighten gradually at home, a good fit if you prefer a more flexible pace.
Dentist-Guided Care
Dr. Tran and Dr. Ryan check your teeth and gums first so whitening is a sensible choice for your smile.
Flexible Payment Options
We welcome self-pay patients and offer financing through CareCredit, iCreditWorks, and Sunbit, plus in-house membership plans.
Coffee, tea, red wine, and everyday aging leave a gradual tint on tooth enamel that brushing alone rarely lifts. Professional teeth whitening addresses that discoloration directly, using a stronger, dentist-supervised approach than store-bought strips. At Boulder Rock Dental, we offer two ways to whiten: an in-office treatment completed at our Palm Coast practice, and a take-home option you use on your own schedule. Both start with a conversation about your teeth, your goals, and how quickly you want to see a change.
In-office whitening is done in our chair under the direct supervision of our team. We protect your gums, apply a professional whitening gel to the front surfaces of your teeth, and monitor the process throughout the appointment. It suits patients who want a noticeable change in a single visit, such as someone preparing for a wedding, a job interview, family photos, or a reunion on a fixed date.
Take-home whitening uses trays and a professional-grade gel you wear at home for set periods over several days or weeks. It suits patients who prefer a gradual approach, who have busy weekday schedules, or who want to control the pace themselves. Many people in Flagler Beach, Beverly Beach, and Painters Hill choose this route because it fits around work and family without extra trips to our office.
Patients usually come to us for one of a few reasons. The most common is surface staining from food and drinks. Daily coffee drinkers, tea lovers, and former smokers often notice a yellow or brown cast that builds slowly over the years. Whitening is well suited to this kind of discoloration.
Another group comes to us after finishing orthodontic treatment. Once Invisalign or clear aligners have straightened their teeth, many patients want the color to match the new alignment. Others are planning cosmetic work. If you are considering porcelain veneers, composite bonding, or crowns, whitening first matters, because restorations are color-matched to your natural teeth and do not lighten with whitening gel. We often discuss whitening as part of a broader smile makeover or Digital Smile Design plan so the shades line up.
What Candidates Should Know
Whitening works best on healthy teeth and gums. Before we start, we recommend a dental exam and cleaning so we can check for cavities, gum disease, or worn enamel that should be treated first. Removing plaque and tartar also lets the whitening gel reach the enamel evenly. Our hygienist and dentists, Dr. Thinh Tran and Dr. Jake Ryan, will look at what is causing your discoloration and tell you plainly whether whitening is likely to help.
Not every stain responds the same way. Some discoloration comes from inside the tooth rather than its surface, and existing fillings, crowns, or bonding will not change color. If whitening is not the right fit, we can talk through alternatives such as bonding or veneers. Some patients notice temporary tooth sensitivity during or after whitening, so let us know if your teeth are already sensitive and we can plan accordingly.
Aftercare and Keeping Your Results
How long whitening lasts depends largely on your habits. The same foods and drinks that caused the original staining will gradually affect your teeth again. A few practical steps help:
- Rinse with water after coffee, tea, or red wine
- Use a straw for dark drinks when practical
- Brush and floss daily and keep up with regular cleanings
- Avoid tobacco products
- Ask us about touch-up options if color begins to fade
Patients with take-home trays can often keep them for occasional touch-ups, which makes maintenance simple. In-office patients can also return for future treatments or switch to take-home touch-ups. We will go over which approach makes sense for you at your appointment.
Regular checkups do double duty here. Professional cleanings remove new surface stains before they settle in, and they give us a chance to catch any dental problems early.
Payment and Financing
Teeth whitening is usually considered a cosmetic treatment, so many insurance plans do not cover it. We accept all major PPO plans and will help you understand your benefits, and we welcome self-pay patients as well. To spread out costs, we offer financing through CareCredit, iCreditWorks, and Sunbit.
We also offer in-house dental membership plans at $189 or $240 per year, with a $109 annual plan for veterans. These are a practical option for patients without insurance who want to stay on top of the cleanings and exams that support a brighter smile. Our team will gladly walk you through costs before any treatment begins.
If you are ready to brighten your smile or simply want to know whether in-office or take-home whitening fits you better, call Boulder Rock Dental to schedule a visit. We look forward to helping you smile with confidence.
